At Colorado Nonprofit Development Center d/b/a iddeate (“iddeate”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), we are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. We have developed this Privacy Policy to provide you with information about how we collect, use, disclose, and protect the personal information our users provide through the use of our website (iddeate, the “Site”) and any information provided directly to our organization. Our Site is intended for adult residents of the United States physically located in the United States. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and is part of our Terms of Use.
Updates to our Privacy Policy
iddeate may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, iddeate will indicate the modification change date in the “last updated” date at the top of the page. Your continued use of the Site after a modification of our Privacy Policy indicates your consent to such modification.
Any new content added to the Site (including all revisions, modifications, and enhancements to the Site) will be covered by this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use effective upon the date of each addition. A material change to the Privacy Policy will be posted on the applicable Site and/or included in an email sent to the email specified in your account profile to obtain any necessary consent in accordance with applicable laws. We encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Policy to be informed of how iddeate is protecting your information.
Collection and Use of Your Information
Information We Collect Directly from You
When visiting the Site, you may opt in to provide us with your email address in order to receive information about resource requests and iddeators (as defined below). You may also provide us with your name, email address, and/or a phone number if you choose to contact us with a question or to provide us with feedback through the Site. If you would like to apply for an open position or volunteer with us, we will ask you to provide us with your first and last name, email address, phone number, and information specific to your application (such as your work history). We will use this information to assess your application, to contact you about your candidacy, and/or for any subsequent work that you may do with us.
If you choose to donate to iddeate, are an adult with IDD, or are a friend, family member, or professional supporting an adult with IDD, we will collect and use your information individually or in aggregate to help improve your experience and the functionality of the Site. Additionally, we will collect, use, and share your information in the following ways and as otherwise described under “How we share and disclose your information” below.
Donors
We collect the following information when you sign up for a donor account on our site, donate to a resource request, donate directly to iddeate, or purchase or redeem a iddeate gift card or gift code: first name, last name, email address, and cell phone number. When you donate, we will create an internal account profile with your name and email address so that we attribute current and future donations properly to you. We use this information to correspond with you regarding transactional activity, which may include confirmation emails, receipts, and updates on resource requests you have funded. We may also send you recommendations for resource requests to support according to your indicated interests, from which you can unsubscribe through your account.
Donation and payment information: Credit card payments are processed by a third-party provider Authorize.net and are governed by the third-party provider’s privacy policy and terms of service. Credit card information is never retained on our servers. If you choose to save your credit card information, the data will be held by the third-party provider and iddeate will store a corresponding anonymized token.
If you indicate that you are a part of any professional affiliations or receive funding through a partner company, we may share your full name and donation amount with the professional organization in order to verify your affiliation or with the funding partner to ensure the proper use of their donation, respectively. These partners are only authorized to use this information for the purpose of verification.
The amount of your donation will be shared with the iddeator(s) whose resource request(s) you give to and any funding partners that match your donation.
Adults with IDD
We collect the following information when you or a family member/caregiver sign up on the Site or start a resource request. Adults with IDD who make donations will also be required to share the information listed under the “Donors” section above.
First name, last name, and resource request information: Publicly, we may use your display name (for example, “Ms. Charles”) along with your location and general resource request information. This publicly displayed name will be treated as non-confidential. This may be used to identify your resource request(s) on iddeate and through any of our social media sharing tools.
Full name: We’ll use your full name to deliver resources to your attention when a resource request is fully funded, and may share your full name with your family or friends or colleagues to confirm that you are eligible to use iddeate.
Email address: We use your email address to set up your account, through which you can access beneficiary-specific services such as submitting a resource request and completing a thank-you kit. We also use it to correspond with you regarding your resource request(s) and use of the Site, deliver important communications, and contact you about special funding opportunities.
Phone number: When we’re not able to reach you by email, we may use your phone number to contact you about actions required for your resource request or funding opportunities in your area. Thank-you kit photos (when required for fully funded resource requests): After a resource request is fully funded, you may be required to upload photos relating to the funded resource request. See our Terms of Use for more details about user generated content, including use of thank-you kit photos.
Optional Information for Donors & Beneficiaries
We may also collect the following information from you should you choose to share it with us.
- Profile photos: Everyone has the option to submit a profile photo. Iddeators can also choose to submit a photo to represent their resource request. These photos are displayed to all visitors to our site, and photos will appear beside the resource request when the resource request is shared using social media sharing tools.
- Password: You can always log into your account through a link emailed to the email address we have on file, but you may also opt to set up a password for your account. We will never share your password, and you agree to not share it, too.
- Custom shipping address: For certain resource requests, you can specify a residential shipping address for the resource request. This address will be used to ship all purchase orders associated with the resource request. We require that you have permission to share this address with iddeate, and the vendor(s) that will fulfill the order(s).
Demographic, educational, and career information: We may use information such as your race, gender, location, and interests to opt you into specific funding opportunities. While this demographic information won’t be publicly listed on your account or resource requests, people may be able to infer it from the funding opportunities your resource requests qualify for. We may use this information to generate donations to resource requests on iddeate, or to invite iddeators to participate in particular events. In addition, we may use this information in aggregate for our own research purposes.
Information That We Automatically Collect During Your Visit
When you visit the Site, our web server automatically recognizes and collects your domain name and IP address. This allows us to deliver resource requests specific to your location, to remember your preferences, or to pre-populate your information during checkout. We also keep track of how users arrive at our site (e.g., via a search engine) and the path of users through our site. We also collect aggregate information about how our site(s) are used, derived mainly from tallying page views throughout our site. This information helps us prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, improve the Site, and gauge how users respond to new features.
To gather and track this information, we use cookies. A cookie is a small data file sent from a website or application and stored on your computer or device. Cookies allow us to recognize your browser when you return to our site, and to remember your login information. This helps us provide certain user features, better understand how you interact with our site, and monitor aggregated usage. You can set your browser to detect some cookies, to stop accepting cookies, or to prompt you before accepting a cookie. To learn more about browser cookies, including how to manage or delete them, look in the Tools, Help, or similar section of your web browser, or visit allaboutcookies.org.
By using the Site, you agree to the use of these tracking technologies.
Some web browsers may transmit “do not track” signals to the website and other online services with which the browser communicates. There is no standard that governs what, if anything, a website should do when they receive these signals. We currently do not take action in response to these signals.
Third-Party Website Tracking
We do not serve targeted advertising; however, when you use the Internet, unaffiliated parties such as ad networks, web analytics companies, and social networking platforms may collect information about your online activities over time and across our and other website(s). We do not track your activity across different website(s) or online services.
How We Share and Disclose Your Information

- As permissible under applicable laws and regulations.
If you create an account, we will indicate which portion of the information you provide will be made public and offer options for you to control how much information is disclosed. In cases where we share your information with third parties (e.g., your employer, as a part of an employee-matching program, or website analytics service provider), our Privacy Policy does not govern the privacy practices of such third parties, and we ask that you refer to their respective privacy policies for details on their use of your information.
How We Protect Your Information
